As far as propaganda goes, this
is actually very good. It's one I would've produced for his campaign if contracted to do so. Trump is petty and small-minded, but he must have at least one person who's competent in his circle. First, let's break down the commercial.
The minimal soundtrack sets a somber tone that really complements the black and white imagery of the cell block. The switch to color and zooming in when Biden appears makes the scene pop and really makes it easy for the viewer to connect the despair of prison life to the one the ad claims is responsible for unnecesarily subjecting so many to it. We're told hundreds of thousands have been put behind bars for minor offenses due to the laws Joe Biden wrote. Of course, it should be noted that the G.O.P. never gave a f#ck about that before. I suppose they grew a conscience last week when this ad started playing.😄 Understand that this fake concern is no different than that of the White people joining BLM after just recently discovering racism and police brutality is a thing. It's no different than the fake concern BLM and its supporters have for the Black men getting murdered in the streets as they instantly pivot towards the LGBT agenda before the body turns cold. It's no different than the fake concern people have for the direction of this country when they can hear the man they think can change things say his bill does everything but hang people for jaywalking. The b.s. is heavy on all sides. What this ad does is shift the focus to the b.s. on the other side of the aisle. But understand that Trump and his party is no less full of sh!t. The ad is supposed to leave you with the impression that he is the alternative, but where in the ad did you hear him or anyone else say they were going to do anything about it? They just want you to remember. 😄
But let's continue, shall we?
It looks like they got Teddy from Black Ink to play Inmate Ivan. He slowly raises his head and looks pensively into the camera. The look is meant to convey the following question: What could I have possibly done so wrong to end up in this lowly state? The answer, young man, is armed robbery and attempted murder. 😄 Nah, Joe Biden would hang you for jaywalking if he had his way so it's clear what happened to land Prison Pete behind bars. Next time maybe you'll pay that parking ticket in a timely manner. In any case, the African American female narrator, voiced by Mike Henry😄, tells us Joe Biden has destroyed millions of Black Lives and that we remember even if he doesn't. And he doesn't.
Now let me break down the politics here.
The Democrats are riding on the notion that, if they portray Trump as a Russian puppet and racist, it will make him toxic enough to the American public to defeat in a general election. It's really in line with what I said earlier about the Democratic gameplan. The plan is to constantly press him on charges of racism, corruption and incompetence and hope that a worsening economy and an international crisis or two will be enough to make him persona non grata to a large enough chunk of the voting public. I would post a link to my account where I said all of this before if it wasn't currently being treated like Toilet WineTeddy in the commercial. In any case, these charges didn't keep him out of the Oval Office and I don't see how they alone would keep him from being re-elected.
It was a terrible strategy in the past and weird to go this route when they had two Back candidates in two key, red states (Fl and GA) that nearly swung gubernatorial races in the Democrat's favor and could possibly swing a general election in the Fall. I get that Abrams is a fat feminist and Gillum is on the Will Smith side of the game, but the way they threw them under the bus seemed intentional. They haven't done anything that's new to your garden variety White politician. It's almost like they don't really want to win as much as it is possible to do anything in such a rigged system. In any event, Black women are going to vote Democrat. It doesn't matter how many of their sons, brothers and husbands this man is directly responsible for incarcerating. Where Trump can make inroads is with Black men. All he has to do is get some Black men to stay home/vote for him. The goal isn't to win the Black vote. He doesn't need to do that. He just has to make sure Blacks don't turn out for Biden the way they turned out for Obama or even for Hillary. The goal here is to keep states that could theoretically go blue in the red.
I know those on the Left might consider the strategy above to be unethical or manipulative. If so, you are a political neophyte at best and you must have never listened to Joe Biden speak. I can't really blame the Trump campaign for doing this. It's smart. It's logical. It's also something the Democrats could easily combat if what's being said in that commercial were false or even if they had a real plan to change it. The Democrats do not give a f#ck about Black men in general and hate straight Black men in particular. They appeal to Black women, offer them whatever crumbs fall off the table and, in return, the women are supposed to turn out and browbeat us into doing as they do. The answer to this is increasingly no and it should be regardless of the intent of the other side. It doesn't really matter who wins to us because nobody, and I mean no motherf#cking body, is interested in changing our material condition. And just like they(Democrats) had opportunities to select a viable running mate, they had oportunities to make a case to Black men to vote for them. But, in each case, it's been a big "F#ck You!"
