Tarrific

You're a fool if you don't think the tariffs are causing massive disruptions and unrest in China. Just because China doesn't let you see it, doesn't mean it's not happening. Yes, I know, the U.S.only accounts for 15% of its exports. Well, please explain how an 8-10% delinquency rate on mortgages brought this country to its knees in 2008? That's just 10% in a single market. There are other examples too. The 13% drop on Black Monday in 1929 that got the ball rolling in the Great Depression.

It's a domino effect followed by or perhaps im conjunction with a ripple effect. Here's how it worked in 2008.: Mortgage companies or subdivisions take a hit. The banks who finance them take a hit. They, in turn, demand stricter lending criteria and freeze credit. Businesses have to cut back and eliminate positions. You notice the reduced foot traffic to your food truck. You can't pay your bills. Now you're  driving for  Domino's and drinking Ripple to numb the pain.

You only have to take or turn 10 to 25% to upend any major system. Now what is up for debate is what puts a people and its leadership on notice. For US, it's $5 eggs or gas. For China, it might be 5% of it's population facing starvation. The cultural and economic touchstones may differ, but once you start nearing 10% and beyond, the $hit storm is coming and nobody stays clean if it starts at the top.

imagine, for a moment, if you could Thanos snap America away. We are actually less than 5% of the world's population. Just 5 percent. Okay, what do you think happens after that? Is Putin still warring with Ukraine or was that just a pit stop on his way through the rest of Eastern, Southeastern and Central Europe? Are Japan and Taiwan still semi sovereign nations or would China finally get to say to them the equivalent of "all your base are belong to us?" And while they are doing all that, what do you think is happening to manufacturing? What do you think your local warlord is doing with that level of  global instability? Do you think the life of the average person goes up or down? And that's just with less than 5% gone. The point isn't to say you aren't suffering now or won't suffer more in the future. It's probably yes to both. The point is not to be slow. If America feels pain, so will everybody else and much greater, objectively speaking.. That's something Black people in America are intimately familiar with. You know the saying when White America catches a cold.... If you think these cr.ackas are just gonna suffer in silence while everyone else prospers, you don't know your Wh.ites very well.

So yes, the degree to which that pain is acknowledged and/or tolerated will vary, but you don't need much to send everyone into a tailspin and the U.S. has the ability to cause that on any nation on Earth including its own.
