"Republicans buy sneakers too."
--Michael Jordan
Let me break this down for the dumb people....the very, very dumb people. When Jordan made that comment, he said it was an off the cuff remark said in jest. You can read about it here.
I know a thing or two about saying things in a joking manner. I can tell you it's typically just revealing a truth in a comedic, sarcastic or hyperbolic way. But it's still a truth. And that's how people generally interpreted Jordan's comment.
"Nah... nah n!gg@, you meant that sh!t exactly the way you said it."
And they would probably be right. Jordan is pretty transparent in this regard. His comment and subsequent explanation of it was him trying to benefit from instead of becoming a target of the prevailing racial politics of the past century (and the current one). By the way, m*therf#ck Obama for what he said in that article. The adaucity of this half-breed wishing anyone to push harder on the issue of racial justice.
In any case, Lebron is more willing to take a risk here. But is that a good thing? This is a man who called Black Lives Matter a lifestyle and and "a walk of life."
Sounds like a simpleton already, doesn't he? This is precisely why you don't want your athletes to speak on social issues. They generally don't have the brainpower to do it. You looking to athletes and entertainers for their views on race and politics? You might as well have them read your cat scans while you're at it. Most professional athletes don't have the mind for it and politicians like Obama don't have the heart.
But check this out:
I would trust the man who said,"Republicans buy sneakers, too" before I would trust the man who was supposedly reading the Autobiography of Malcolm X with a takeaway of:
If a 9 year old said the above, I would have more grace. I would give the kind of grace you'd give an emerging reader reading from his 4th grade book report. But a 39 year old? Do you know what it sounds like? Say it with me:
"It sounds like B#ll shit!"
The problem is many people who can see through Jordan's b.s. can't see through Lebron's or Obama's. This tells me the problem is them. I can't even blame these athletes and politicians for taking advantage of you. What else could you possibly be good for? You are the kind of man to be cucked or scammed. All someone has to do is be likeable to you and start spitting platitudes and you will cut a jig to their words like
"Hope and change, n!gg@. Hope and change."
That's all it takes and your brain shuts off. What Lebron should have said is, "I just started reading it. Let me finish it, and try to think about it, before telling you what I gleaned from it." See how easy that was? But this man is so egotistical, so consumed with his own image, that he thinks what he said was a better look and so do his low IQ supporters.
Here is the difference between Lebron and Jordan's career in a nuthshell: Jordan was image and substance (on the court). Lebron is image over substance in everything.
